Disney or Bust1: Magic Kingdom 1 and Epcot

We just got back from a fun-filled 7 day trip to Disney World. There was so much fun that this will be broken up into 2, maybe 3, posts.

Travel to the most magical place on Earth was no easy feat. We have learned this week that Brady is not a great traveler. Or, maybe it is just his age. He is a busy and on the go guy. Sitting still on a plane for 2 plus hours is not his idea of fun. The descent in to Orlando was really hard on him too. We hoped he would nap on the plane, no luck. We finally made it to Orlando, only to have the airport tram track be struck by lightening and scare the you know what out of me.

On our way to the airport. Our first vacation as a family of four.

Alas, we made it to our hotel, The Art of Animation, got some dinner and all was well again, for the time being. We even had just enough energy to check out and play with some of the statues on the way to our room. While the Little Mermaid rooms were nice, we would opt for the Cars section next for the mere fact that they are closer to the lobby after a long day at the parks.

His favorite guy, Rafiki

Before we left for our first day of Disney fun, the boys had some surprises waiting for them when they woke up.

Magic Kingdom, Round 1

Our first day we went to Magic Kingdom. I truly enjoyed seeing Ethan's face as we watched Mickey and friends open the park. He was in awe of the whole experience.

His Walt wave. He LOVED watching them open the park.

Family waiting on the gates to open

He loved meeting everyone! He told me that he thought everyone was so nice. He especially loved Ariel on that first day.

Even though he had a rough couple of days to start, Brady enjoyed all of the rides. It was the waiting for the rides that was tough for him. Here both boys are enjoying 'It's a Small World.'

Riding the Dumbo ride

Riding Barnstormer

Riding the Under the Sea ride

Daddy, wrap my towel like you do yours.
We were met with some rain during the week. However, it wasn't near what I was afraid it was going to be. Good thing we came prepared.

Here, Brady and I had just finished doing some shopping at the Ye Oldde Christmas Shoppe while Robert and Ethan were ridign Haunted Mansion.

How do you get a 1 year old to sit still for a sillohette picture? Give him a popsicle.

Meeting Woody and Jessie

These are a couple of my favorites from the day. While Robert and Ethan went to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway, Brady and I got our ears monogrammed and walked Mainstreet for a bit. This was when we was happiest, when we was able to walk around and check it all out. The stroller was, evidently, the devil.

This one might be framed. I adore it.

Epcot

Day 2 was Epcot. Before we went over to Epcot we started with a character breaksfast at Chef Mickey's.  Ethan loved it. I don't think he ate much of his $25 breakfast since he was so worried about when each character was going to come visit our table. Brady was 'okay' with everyone except Pluto. He did not like Pluto. Which is ironic because he loves his Pluto plush.

All waffles taste better when in Mickey form.

Full and ready for Epcot
Once we made it to Epcot, Ethan was ready to go. There definitely isn't quite as much to do for the little ones. But, they did have a great time for the amount of time that we were there. But, we did ride the Nemo ride. Ethan and Robert rode the Test Track. After that we pretty much walked around, met Alice, and checked out a little bit of the other countries. I was able to make it over to Japan to pick my oyster to find a pearl. I am going to have it set in a necklace soon.

Love and cherish when he insist on holding my hand.

His favorite part of the day.

Nemo ride

So, Brady fell asleep on the bus on the way back to the hotel. The 1/2 mile walk from the lobby to our room was long and my back was burning. But, it was worth it to have my happy guy back when he woke up. While he slept, I edit pictures and Robert and Ethan went for a swim. It was a win, win, win.
Finally, he sleeps

The boys friends reading the Bible while we were gone.
After nap, it was about time for dinner. So, we went to the food court to have something to eat and play in the arcade. We also played in the elephant boneyard on our way back.

Here are couple of the things that we did while hanging out at the hotel. Please excuse the fact that my children have a hard time keeping their shoes on.
