Plant a pea

First and foremost, Happy Baseball Season!

Last week our playgroup had a "Plant a pea" playdate.  We all went out on the back porch and two-by-two filled a pot with potting soil and seeds.

Some of them had more interest than others.  Others thought it would be more fun to run around the backyard or play in the sandbox.  Since Ethan loves to take things out of one container and put it into another he thoroughly enjoyed this for awhile.  So much that we may continue this over the summer to keep him busy.  It's good for a good 10 minutes of busy work.  The idea is that they plant the seed and watch it grow.  This lasted about a day for us.  We got it home.  We watered it for two days.  And then Ethan happened.  While he was playing outside he decided it needed to be moved to the yard, half emptied.  We may have peas in a pot in a few days or peas in the backyard.

Either way, it was a beautiful day for the planting some peas and the kids had a good time getting dirty.
